Guide to LEED 2009 Estimating and Preconstruction Strategies ReviewWritten in a clear and direct style, Thomas Taylor's "Guide to LEED 2009" speaks with both authority and comprehensive scope. As Taylor's book makes clear, designing, constructing, and ultimately occupying a LEED-certified building are all parts of an integrated process with many variables not in the traditional calculus. A LEED designer, for one example, may come in conflict with local ordinances. The body of the book, organized around the 2009 LEED score categories, is fully detailed, and is interspersed with illustrative scenarios from past projects. There are many lessons to be learned here. "Guide to LEED 2009" finishes with a chapter detailing 14 LEED-certified projects: this may be where you are tempted to start. If so, be sure to read the rest of the book. Highly recommended.

Site Engineering for Landscape Architects ReviewPuchased this text to help review for the LARE exam. The text has all of the necessary information but is not layed out well. Illustrations are not located on pages where they are referenced in the text making it so that you have to flip back and forth across several pages to understand the text in relation to the examples.
The larger problem with the book is that the answers to Exercises are not given. You will have no way to determine if you are completing the problems correctly or not. The only way to find out will be to have them reviewed by another Landscape Architect or Engineer.
The text functions well as a reference for Landscape Architects to review formulas or storm water calculation techniques but if you are trying to use it for developing skills or for exam preperation I would not recommend it.Site Engineering for Landscape Architects Overview
