The Aging Intellect ReviewHaving had the privilege of being mentored by Dr. Powell in my own doctoral program at Harvard, it is certainly gratifying to see that he can produce yet another of his lucid (well, at least demi-lucid) contributions to geriatric health matters, even while himself (almost ?) an octogenarian ! While Dr. Powell's expressions of academic intellect do, at times, seem to wander a bit into the vague, he is--on the whole--focused and clear. The book is most certainly worth at least a scan with one's morning green tea, DMAE, acetyl-l-carnitine, and online synaptic challenge games.

Landscape Architectural Graphic Standards ReviewLeonard Hopper has done a tremendous job of compiling an immense amount of information that covers a broad expanse of topics relevant to landscape architecture, from site analysis to the design of zoo exhibits and everything in between. One of the book's best and most useful features is the enormous compilation of detailed construction diagrams for all sorts of site elements. To top things off, the entire book is very well organized and easy to use.
For years the only book with similar information was Time Saver Standards, which I have always found to be difficult to navigate, poorly organized, and lacking in the kind of detail I really need. Landscape Architectural Graphic Standards is a FAR better book.Landscape Architectural Graphic Standards Overview
